THE LEHRHAUS 2024 SHORT STORY CONTEST 

The Lehrhaus is pleased to announce a call for submissions to our 2024 Short Story Contest. We are seeking original short stories within the scope of our mission to explore the depth and diversity of Jewish ideas. The story should be between 1,000 and 5,000 words, and is due no later than July 31, 2024, 11:59 PM ET. 
 
Rules and Guidelines: 
 
Eligibility: 
– The contest is open to all individuals. 
 
How to Enter: 
– Submit your story as a Word document to [email protected]
– Use the subject line: “Short Story Contest Submission.” 
– To be considered, submissions must be received by July 31, 2024, 11:59 PM ET. 
– Entries not following these guidelines will not be considered for the contest.
 
Criteria: 
– The story must contain Jewish content. 
– Length: 1,000 – 5,000 words. 
– The work must be original and unpublished. 
– The entire story must be solely the work of the contestant. 
 
Prize: 
– Up to three prizes will be awarded. 
– The first-place winner will receive a $100 honorarium and featured publication in Lehrhaus
– Other submissions may be published, though publication is not guaranteed. 
– All submissions are subject to editing by Lehrhaus editors. 
 
Judging:
– Entries will be judged by Lehrhaus editors, with the possibility of external reviewers. 

– The judges’ decision is final.
