Thomas Freeman

Dr. Freeman is a Professor Emeritus at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in the Department of Neurosurgery. He has published over 140 peer reviewed articles, book chapters as well as patents--at the intersection of medicine, basic science and ethics. These have been cited 19,500 times, and published in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, The Lancet, Trends in Neuroscience, Neurology, Annals Neurology, Movement Disorders, The Journal of Comparative Neurology, Neurosurgery, Spine, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, among others. He is the Past President of two different Medical Societies. Dr. Freeman currently lives in Asheville, NC, where he continues his academic work on surgical trial ethics as well as a novel way to treat stroke.
