Shamai A Grossman, MD, MS, is vice chair for health care quality, Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, associate professor of medicine and emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School and a visiting professor at Sharrei Tzedek Medical Center. He studied under Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik, has semicha from Yeshiva University and a master’s degree in medieval Jewish history. He is the author of over 200 peer reviewed publications and 4 books including Ethics in Emergency Medicine. This manuscript was prepared while Rabbi Dr. Grossman was in quarantine.
